The Philadelphia Phillies picked up their first win in 2008 eason in dramatic fashion as they beat the Washington Nationals 8-7 in 10 innings. It took a bases loaded walk to Jason Werth to get the winning run, but the Phillies will take it any way they can get it!
Clay Condrey picked up the victory out of the bullpen for the Phillies. The rest of the bullpen pitched pretty good as well as Ryan Madson was the only relief pitcher charged with a earned run. Starting pitcher Jamie Moyer was charged with three earned runs in only 3.2 innings.
Hopefully the Phillies offense will stay hot as they play the Cincinnati Reds next. The Phillies can really use some wins to get back to .500 and stay towards the top of the division.
