The Phillies search for a left handed bat off the bench has apparently ended as Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reports that the team has acquired 40 year old first basemen/outfielder Matt Stairs from Toronto for a player to be named later.  Stairs has 11 homers and 44 RBI’s thus far this season.  He is a good hitter that should help fill the bench void.  Stairs is a native of Canada and had hoped to end his career as a Blue Jay.  Hopefully he can help his new team, the Phillies, reach the playoffs!  Now all we need is a set up man,  Brian Fuentes anyone ?
