Ryan Howard hit two more home runs as he continues to heat up on Wednesday.  Howard’s two home runs helped the Philadelphia Phillies beat the St. Louis Cardinals by the score of 4-1.  With the 4-1 victory, the Phillies took two out of three games against the Cardinals.

Howard started things off in the first inning when he had a two run home run and then he added a solo home run in the sixth inning.  Chase Utley also added a rbi double that scored Jimmy Rollins in the third inning.  There wasn’t much scoring for the Phillies but it was enough as the Cardinals struggled to score runs.

Jamie Moyer tossed the first seven innings of the game to pick up the victory and improve to 8-6.  Moyer gave up seven hits and one run in his seven innings of action so he had a nice quality start for the team.  Ryan Madson pitched 1 1/3 innings but had some problems in the ninth inning when he allowed two runners on.  J.C. Romero was then called upon to record the final two outs which he had no problem doing to pick up his first save of the season.
