The Phillies said on Tuesday that they will offer arbitration to free-agent outfielder Jayson Werth. They will not, however, do the same for free-agent reliever Chad Durbin. Werth, who expressed a desire to remain in Philadelphia after the Phillies' postseason run ended in October, will be among the marquee names in this year's free-agent market.

Ryne Sandberg is back with the organization that once gave him away and painfully watched him become a Hall of Fame player in a different uniform. The Philadelphia Phillies hired Sandberg to manage their Triple-A affiliate, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, on Monday.
