Cole Hamels pitched 7.1 innings on Tuesday night as the Philadelphia Phillies beat the San Diego Padres 7-4.  Hamels picked up the win which improves his record to 3-3 on the season.  A big eighth inning where the Phillies scored four runs gave them enough cushion to hold on for the victory.

Besides Hamels good start, J.C. Romero, Tom Gordon, and Ryan Madson all seen action in the game.  Madson made things interesting in the ninth inning as he gave up two runs.

Carlos Ruiz had two RBI for the Phillies while a slew of players chipped in with one RBI each.  Jason Werth, Eric Bruntlett, Ryan Howard, Pedro Feliz and Greg Dobbs all had one RBI in the game.

The Philadelphia Phillies scored two runs in the eigth inning to beat the Milwaukee Brewers 3-1.  Pat Burrell once again came up with the big hit as he had two-run double in the eigth inning that provided the go ahead and winning runs.

The Phillies also got a solo home run off the bat of Jason Werth.  It was Werth’s fourth home run of the season.

Tom Gordon picked up the win as he pitched the seventh inning.  Starting pitcher Jamie Moyer threw six innings and allowed eight hits and one earned run.  Good quality start for Moyer as he kept the Phillies in the game and that is all you can ask from your starter.  J.C. Romero and Ryan Madson pitched the eigth inning before giving way to Brad Lidge who picked up his fifth save of the season.

The Phillies are now one game over .500 and hope to continue their success on Friday when they start a series with the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The Phillies will stay in Colorado for one more night to go up against the Rockies tonight for game two of the series.  Let’s see if the Phillies carry over any momentum after scoring five late runs in Mondays game into the game on Tuesday.

The Philadelphia Phillies lost to the Houston Astros 2-1 on Wednesday night as the Phillies couldn’t figure out Roy Oswalt and the Astros.

Kyle Kendrick and Oswalt were locked in a pitching duel, but the Astros got the better of Kendrick as he allowed two earned runs compared to Oswalt’s one.  Kendrick pitched well enough to get the victory but the Phillies just didn’t have much offense behind him.

The only run the Phillies got was a RBI single by Ryan Howard in the first inning.  Other then that, the Phillies didn’t have have much offense in the game.

The Philadelphia Phillies woke up at the right time against the Houston Astros as the Phillies scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to beat the Astros 4-3.  A three run home run by Pat Burrell and then an RBI double by Pedro Feliz won the game for the Phillies.

The Phillies were more less dead the entire game up until Jose Valverde came in to the game and the Phillies some how woke up.  Chris Snelling hit a leadoff homer and Chase Utley was hit by a pitch. Ryan Howard then struck out, and Burrell tied the score at 3 with a two-run homer to right.

After the Burrel home run, Geoff Jenkins struck out but made it to first base after the ball got away from Brad Ausmus.  That is when Feliz roped a double to the left field corner that scored Jenkins from first base.

Rudy Seanez picked up the win for the Phillies.  Starting pitcher Adam Eaton had pitched seven innings and allowed three earned runs and seven hits.

The Philadelphia Phillies rallied in the 7th and 8th innings to tie the game, but they went onto lose in 12 innings to the New York Mets by the score of4-3.  On a very close play at the plate, Jose Reyes was called safe and scored the winning run for the Mets.  Charlie Manuel argued, but that didn’t change the outcome of the game.

Pedro Feliz hit a solo home run in the 7th inning and then picked up another RBI on a fielder choice in the 8th inning that tied the game.  Ryan Howard also hit a solo home run in the 8th inning.  That was wall the offense that the Phillies could come up with on Thursday night.

Starting pitcher Adam Eaton pitched as he gave up three earned runs on five hits.  It wasn’t too bad of a performance by Eaton, there just wasn’t any run support for him.  Tom Gordon took the loss as he pitched in the 12th inning, and his record now stands at 0-2 on the season.

The Philadelphia Phillies fell behind early as they gave up six runs in the 3rd inning to the New York Mets and then went onto lose the game 8-2.  Once the Phillies got down 7-1, it was pretty easy to tell that they were going to lose the game.

Kyle Kendrick was the starting pitcher for the Phillies that got rocked.  Kendrick only pitched 2.1 innings as he gave up seven runs and four hits.  Only one of the runs was earned however so it doesn’t sounds as bad as it looks.  The Phillies had four errors on the game, and that really hurt the pitchers.

Chad Durbin, Clay Condrey, and Rudy Seanez all seen action in relief.  Condrey was the only relief pitcher to allow a run to score.  Bullpen pitched good, it was just Kendrick and the errors that were bad.

Yeah the pitching and defense sucked, but so did the offense.  You aren’t going to win very many games when you can only score two runs.  Carlos Ruiz and Chase Utley both accounted for an RBI each for the Phillies.
